Quotes Project.

"We construct a narrative for ourselves, and that's the
thread we follow from one day to the next. People who
disintegrate as personalities are the ones who lose that
This was a really quick project, we only had a week to
complete it. I tried to fit the whole quote into one
long image. I quite like it and it took a long time,
however I think that I could have developed it
so much more with time. To me it seems quite
literal but to other people I don't think it's clear.

Sandor Reisenbuchler is a Hungarian animator that my
tutor introduced to me. He makes these psycadelic films
using coloured paper and collage.
I've never attempted any animation because I always
thought it was too high tech for me to ever understand,
but after seeing these I'm eager to give it a go.

What ever happened to Baby Jane?

What ever happened to Baby Jane? is one
of my all time favourite films. I love
how convincingly evil Bette Davis is,
and I love the clothes she wears.
Here is a poster for the film, scary.

Here are a few quick sketches I've done in my
sketchbook. I just bought these letraset promarkers,
they've made my life.

This is my lamb that unfortunately gets
eaten in the story. I have chosen a
salmon pink colour to print it in
I think it gives it a more whimsical
feel. I like this image however theres
something I find annoying about it
but I can't quite put my finger on it.
I think it's the mouth.

This is the positive for my wolf in sheeps clothing
and the colours that I intend to use for the final piece.
I did two seperate drawings on acetate so that I could
use two different colours for the wolf and sheep.
Although I like the orange paper as a background,
it makes it too hard to see the detail of the sheep so I
will have to bare that in mind for the final image.

I am not a witch.

My final piece for the summer project,
thinking about printing some onto t-shirts.

Santa Maria della Concezione.

This is an amazing but terrifying church in Rome, the
crypt contains the bones of over 4000 friars.

This is a anatomical drawing of a brain that I found in a little shop on
a recent trip to Rome. I saw it in the window and fell in love with it, I
think the amount of detail that has gone into it is incredible.

Witch Children

I have just started a new project on the witch children in africa. These children are abandoned, tortured, and sometimes murdered by evangelical christians who believe them to use black magic.

This is just a postitive for a screen print, I was trying to make the children look terrified, but instead they
seem a bit like they're loving it, not a good look.

Some drawings from my sketchbook.

These images are from a project
exploring the meaning of the
word "zoo". My main aim was
to project the animals as religious
icons, but with modernised stances.
